Name: Ts’kal (Tsenikal)
Age: 21 years, summer
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Rank: Rainbowrider & Candidatemaster
Location: Eyrie
Personality:
Ts’kal is, like his simourv, a cheerful person. He has to be, or he would go insane trying to deal with Aburoqaph. Rarely downhearted, he is almost always happy, or at the very least optimistic. Few things bring a worst-case scenario to his mind, but when sorrow hits him, it hits him hard. Though relaxed and not naturally a worrier, the candidatemaster can become extremely anxious over people he cares about. If he believes someone is in danger, he will rush to their aid without a thought for himself, putting him in the category of brave-but-foolish. This is also a common way for him to get in trouble. And, even when in trouble, he isn’t meek or shy. He’ll argue his point with cheerful conviction, although his anger can be cutting and cruel if someone’s words have hurt him.
Indeed, it’s not all that hard to hurt Ts’kal’s feelings, though he generally covers it up with a smiling mask and seems to get over things quickly. Second, third, and hundredth chances are a given with him, and no one has yet run out of opportunities to make up with him. He’s forgiving to a fault, and will accept people back time and again regardless of what they’ve done to hurt him. Honestly, it seems impossible to stay on his bad side.
But first and foremost, Ts’kal loves to teach people things. Enthusiastic and patient, he’ll happily spend hours helping someone learn, and often comes to care deeply about all his students. Because of this, he makes an excellent teacher. He also knows exactly what he’s talking about when it comes to what he teaches, although he isn’t afraid to say “I don’t know” if it’s the truth. All in all, he’s an extremely agreeable person and does his best to get along with everyone. It generally isn’t hard with his sunny outlook on life, either – to date, he’s never been able to hold a grudge for more than a week or so, and rarely for more than a day.
Appearance:
Ts’kal not only acts friendly, he looks friendly too. Standing at 5’9”, he isn’t enormously tall, and is built sparely, with long limbs and lean muscles, but makes up for it with a smiling oval face. His eyes are deep brown, set over high cheekbones. His eyebrows are thin and arched, giving him a constantly laughing expression. Thick brown hair flops over his forehead and around his ears, being of medium length for a male. His nose is a shade too long, and crooked from being broken several years ago. It is, however, set over a wide and generous mouth, one which is almost always smiling. His teeth are white and even, and though the rainbowrider isn’t necessarily the hottest thing out there, he’s quite handsome. There is nothing feminine about him, either, although he isn’t super-masculine. Overall, Ts’kal simply looks like what he is: an honest, attractive, and friendly person.

Beautiful Aburokoosh by Wingy!
ABUROQAPH
ABUROQAPH II: MISCHIEF
Simourv Name: Aburoqaph
Simourv Color: Rainbow
HEX: {FF0000}{FF3300}{FFDD00}{00FF00}{1177FF}{8800FF}{800080}
Simourv Age: 3 years
Personality:
Aburoqaph is, to be succinct, extremely hyperactive. He absolutely cannot bear to remain still for more than a few seconds at a time, and will roll, twitch his wings, swish his tail, or otherwise occupy himself if forced to remain stationary. Enthusiastic and full of heart, he’ll throw himself into anything and do his very best at it, although having the attention span of a gnat somewhat hampers the rainbow’s ability to get anything done. Being exceptionally helpful, he tries to assist everyone he can, in whatever ways he can, even if he isn’t wanted. For the most part his antics are tolerated, but being loud and exceedingly vocal, Aburo sometimes makes others angry.
He is, however, incredibly affectionate. Bonding easily to others, though Ts’kal is and always will be his favourite, he loves to meet new people and simourvs. Everyone is a friend unless proven otherwise, and the only things this rainbow doesn’t seem to like are xymokoxi. He simply cannot stand them and is one of the most vicious defenders of the eyrie in the face of a koxi attack. For everyone and everything else he possesses a bright, if superficial affection. He also loves to be touched and have attention laved upon him. Aburoqaph is weirdly fond of talking to everyone, and seems to like asking random, sometimes awkward questions. Learning is high on his list of priorities as well, and though he doesn’t pay attention for very long, he has the ability to learn very quickly, making that a moot point. Overall, he comes off as a vibrantly alive, off-the-wall simourv, and can disturb people and guardians alike with his overabundant enthusiasm. He also has a weird penchant for climbing when he doesn’t feel like flying, and will try to scale any nearby vertical surfaces when bored.
Appearance:
Aburoqaph is not a subtle creature, not in personality and certainly not in appearance. The only non-vibrant colours on him are those of his legs and muzzle, which are black, and his silvery talons. Otherwise, the word ‘rainbow’ is thoroughly accurate in describing him. Vibrant golden eyes peer out of an alert and friendly face. Brilliant crimson feathers run from Aburo’s head all the way down his neck, and are shot through and edged with gold and orange. These give way to bright gold feathers ringing his shoulders, but mostly these shoulders are a bright, lively green. Violet edged, the green gives way entirely to the purple on the main portions of the simourv’s wings. The flight feathers range from dark purple to light purple to blue in colour, and are tinged with white. His belly, on the other hand, is bright orange, edged with black and white, and his flanks are a brilliant shade of fuchsia. Aburo’s dorsal feathers are dark green, at least until they reach his hips, at which point all the feathers become various shades of blue and purple. Most dramatic of all the rainbow’s colouring, however, is his tail: cyan, purple, indigo, white, red, and gold all run together in a crazy gradient, with virtually every feather being tinged with some other colour than its main one. This pattern settles down slightly at the ending tuft of the male’s tail, however: white, orange, green, and black feathers rise in tiers, with each feather streaked with bands of the other colours. Overall, he’s extremely dramatic to look at, and has been known to give people headaches when he moves around a lot (which is almost always).
Parentage:
Wild Grey X Wild Black
History:
Tsenikal, in his early days near Sayaie, was certainly never a victim of abuse. His parents, Arialis and Telekem, were some of the kindest people he ever knew. They raised him and his twin with love and affection, and if asked, he would be completely unable to recall a single time when either parent struck him or even yelled at him with much enthusiasm. Indeed, the only way he ever learned to fight was because he tended to get into fights with Alekai. This latter, being much more warlike and dominant than his brother, had a habit of trying to push Tsenikal into doing what he wanted. Naturally his twin rebelled, and it generally resulted in a fistfight, which the eventual rider almost always lost. Still, it taught him the basics of combat he would need later.
These fights decreased in both severity and frequency as the boys grew older, and Arialis and Telekem looked on proudly as each boy grew into a man. Tsenikal was helpful and kind to everyone he met; Alekai was less so, but he was still a good man – he was just more of a leader. Both of them worked on the farm for some time, until Tsenikal joined the hunting expedition that, ultimately, led to the discovery of the grey’s nest. He, with all the others, watched the eggs until they hatched.
He wasn’t disappointed.
Every egg hatched from the wild grey’s clutch. The little green-and-yellow striped egg was one of the last, and it was also one that had caught Tsenikal’s eye some time ago. It didn’t even start rocking until near the end of the hatching, but when it did, the vibrant Aburoqaph popped out. Overenthusiastic, he crashed through the remnants of eggshell, tripped multiple times, and generally stumbled and flailed his way about. It didn’t take long for him to notice the circle of odd creatures around him, and he bumbled up to investigate one.
No, that one wasn’t right! He wasn’t for Aburoqaph! So the little rainbow continued on, peeking up at everyone and studying them cheerily before he literally banged right into the legs of his bonded. Though the hatchling didn’t actually mean to fall, he wrapped himself around the person’s legs and stayed there, chirping excitedly. Ts'kal, Ts'kal! Look! I found you! See? I found you all by myself! Your feet-things are mine, Ts'kal! All mine!
And with that loud, happy announcement, Ts’kal was Aburoqaph’s. The pair of them bumbled their way through their first months together, and in that time, they grew completely inseparable. Learning to fly was an absolute joy for them, and neither has ever forgotten the day that they first flung themselves into the air and soared over Eyrie. Indeed, they’ve become much more than they ever dreamed of. Still Aburoqaph does not chase, but Ts’kal knows that when he does, things are likely to become quite crazy indeed. For now, though, they’re quite happy enjoying life in the Eyrie, teaching candidates all about what they need to know. After all, it seems that the male rainbowrider learned and absorbed plenty of information about simourvs, and has become candidatemaster.
