Name: Emillabbea (Emi) Age: Thirteen (Autumn) Gender: Female Sexuality: Bisexual Rank: Goose Herder Location: Eyrie
Personality: For the most part, Emillabbea, who much prefers to be called Emi, is a fairly normal, sweet little girl. She likes puppies and ponies, though her fondness of geese and ducks is a little odd. She likes nothing more than to occupy her time with idle thoughts of adventures to distant coasts and of riding a simourv. She isn't overly energetic, but she has a way of speaking about her that's adorably lively. She's friendly and sunny to most, more than happy to carry on a conversation while she works. In fact, she'll talk to the animals. She's the friendly sort, a kind person who likes to know the people around her. Full of questions and wonder, she seems hard to bring down. She likes to be around people and life. In fact, for the most part, she adores people. She really does come off as your perfectly typical sweetheart because she is in many respects.
However, despite her kind nature, Emi is fiercely independent. She isn't quite a child; she's already started to grow up. She can take orders, but there's a little piece of her that likes to be alone, off all by herself without anyone else. No stranger to work, she's good at what she does. While not overly good with horses or cows, she has a knack with birds. She knows how their heads work; she knows how to make them move. A thoughtful and stubborn girl for all her sweetness, she knows when to dig in her heels and ask to get what she wants. She can be quite the brat, should you get on her bad side. It's best to leave her alone when she seems off or in a mood. When she wants something, she'll come ask for it. If she needs something, she'll come find it. She has a great deal of common sense to her; she's more self aware than she might seem.
Still, Emi doesn't tend to follow sense as much as she should. She knows better about so many things that she does. With a wide, open heart, she's trusting of other people, even though she already should have learned better than that. She isn't naive, just sweet. If she feels inclined, she'll happily talk to strangers and she does her best to help anyone who's in need. Mothering, maternal, and matriarchal, she's happy to take anyone who needs a helping hand under her wing. It's a little strange that a prepubescent is so fiercely inclined to care for others, but she is who is and she sees the best in most people. The self awareness that she has extends to others. While not always right and certainly not the most brilliant person to have ever existed, she dishes out sensible advice by the bushel load. She's a nurturer, an earth mother in a little girl's body.
Appearance: A healthy twelve year old, Emi has smooth, lightly tanned skin. She generally keeps herself clean and she seems to exude a glow that has everything to do with simply her physical well being. She looks wholesome and young, because that's what she is. She's fairly big for her age, standing two inches over five feet. She's not fat, but she isn't designed to be light. Despite her prepubescent youth, she has a distinctly curvy design, slender through her limbs but strong in her torso. She looks mature for her age, not older but definitely not younger.
Thick, shiny, curly brown hair frames Emi's face. It's a very brown shade of brown, just slightly tinged reddish in the curls. To match, her eyes are also a very brown shade of brown. They're brown and that's sort of that. She does, however, have fine, neatly curved brows and delicate lashes which help to make them look more distinct. Her face is very round and soft, pudgy but only with the lingerings of childhood; her other features are simple but delicate. Set right beneath a skinny nose, she has full, rosy lips, quite obvious against the smaller traits of her face.
Family: Father - Robert (Farmer) Mother - Emilia (Deceased) Brother - Mobe (Student) Sister - Lybeie (Seamstress) Pets: Jok, Male Goose
History: Robert and Emilia already had two children when they conceived their third, but Emillabbea's birth was entirely welcome. Their family was big, close knit, and loving. Little Emi, the youngest once she was born, grew up just outside of Sayaie with her two older siblings, Mobe and Lybeie. They were a tight knit little brood, always playing with each other despite the fact that Mobe was four years older than Lybeie and she was three years older than Emi. Agreeable and not prone to squabbling, they flourished in each others' company, helping their parents tend to the farm that they lived on and generally enjoying themselves. Out of their group, however, it was Emi who was the most forward and extroverted. She actually occasionally invited other children from the neighboring farms to play. Her siblings were much shier around other people.
As she grew, Emillabbea continued to the social one. Mobe protected her, but he wasn't much of a fighter. She took care of herself, when she wasn't spending time with her mother, who was a kind, loving woman who cared about both of her daughters and her son a great deal. Emi was her little baby, though she hardly ever acted like it, and she gladly doted on the little girl, who turned out just as sweet and mothering as her. Out of the three, Emi was the most obstinate as well, though, and she was the only one who tended to start arguments. When something wasn't right, she was usually quite vocal about it. As a baby, she'd been a crier. As a growing child, she was a shouter. It was an odd contrast, because, most of the time, she was as quiet as her brother and sister when just with them, very respectful of them and everyone around her.
Emi's relationship with her father was fine, but she was always closer to her mother. She loved to spend time with the quiet, nurturing farm wife, away from her siblings, who never minded helping their father, for a short while. While barn chores never bothered her much either, she loved to help with the baking and the washing. Her mother told stories of things she knew nothing about; both Robert and Emilia were old for having three young kids, though still healthy enough. They could remember a great many old things that others could not and Emilia loved to tell about them to her youngest daughter. Emillabbea was an attentive and rapt listener. Still, despite her special relationship with her mother, she spent the most time with Mobe and Lybeie. The three of them were equals and she thrived in that environment. All of them did.
For the longest time, their family was complete. Happy. Koxi occasionally rampaged through the town, but they remained solid and together. Then Emilia, Emi's mother, passed away. It was just a passing cold, no injury, barely a fever, but then she was gone. All of a sudden, they were alone, all a little lonelier. Robert withdrew and his children had to fend for themselves, because they were just eking along on the work he did. Emi was just ten then. Mobe was already a student; he was going to become a great teacher and philosopher one day. Lybeie quickly became a seamstress. While they tried to keep Emi at home, she wasn't having any of that. She didn't want to just help their quiet father. She became a herder, picking up the trade from an experienced shepherd. While she hadn't much noticed before, she loved working with animals.
A year came and went. Emi missed her mother, but she moved forward. She saw little of her siblings and father, often away from home. She made new friends. Sheep were too dangerous for her, so she'd been given geese to guard and she took to it like a fish to water. The geese were her friends, along with other herders, some her age and some older, and children from the villages that she past through as she took flocks to market. There were riders in the sky, simourvriders, and she got to hear all the news of them. In fact, one day, she got to take a flock up to them and it was there, at the eyrie, that she stayed. She got hired by the attendants in the mews to help with their birds. Taking just one of the old geese that she'd kept, a male named Jok, she settled into her new home, surrounded by riders and life. She found herself happy in the eyrie.
