Name: Sa’nia(Satonia)
Age: Twenty years (born in Summer) <+2 since creation>
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Rank: Tawny Rider, Search Rider, and Eyrie Watch Lieutenant
Location: The Eyrie
Personality:
If all the citizens of Pohono were part of a dance club, Sa’nia would be the disco ball, center of attention. She enjoys dashing towards a complete stranger and introducing herself. Her bubbly spirits and cheerful tone of voice almost draw away from the fact that she’s terribly clumsy. Yes, she is quite the klutz when it comes to standing on her two feet. IF Altaph isn’t nearby, there is a very high chance of the girl to fall flat on her face at least once. However, instead of freaking out or throwing a fit, she laughs at the pain and at her own clumsiness. Considering the fact that this happens at least once a day, she learned that the pain wasn’t exactly her fault.
When it comes to liking somebody, Sa’nia is very obvious and showy, almost like those macho-men trying to impress the ladies. It can be quite entertaining to watch, finding her almost stalking her fancy to find the best possible time to show off, sometimes playing a part in causing a scuffle to become the “hero.” However, she is strictly straight as a pin, and will probably smack a girl across the face and storm off if they try to sway her.
At one point in time, she was quite the manipulative one. Thankfully, the Impression to Altaph did eliminate almost all of her cruel ways. What’s still left is spent playing harmless pranks on her Tawny and other unsuspecting citizens of Pohono. However, rather than dashing off in a fit of laughter, she comes out of hiding for the person or Simourv who was subjected to the foolishness and apologizes. Sure she’s devious, but honest as well.
Appearance:
Sa’nia is not what some people would expect to see when they hear the words “simourv rider.” Standing at a mere five feet two inches and weighing in at one hundred pounds, she looks like a twig that could snap in a moment. She has slight curves that are somewhat noticeable, and thin, slender limbs to add to her already fragile appearance. However, her frame is deceiving; after the years of hard training with Altaph and the others, she became a machine made from pure muscle. She has many scars across her sunkissed arms and hands, but they’re so small that they’re hardly noticeable; most of them had come from puncture wounds from Altaph’s talons.
Her hair is a shoulder-length curtain of warm crimson. It is always hanging down to frame her heart-shaped face. Everywhere you look from her forehead to her chin is adorned with freckles, many of them congregating on her cheeks and nose. Her eyes are a pretty typical shade of hazel, having a bright brown color that looks almost red rim of her iris, which fades to a lighter orangey brown before coming near the center. Around the pupil is a blue-green color. The rest of her features bring you through a full circle around her face, with small, full lips and an average-sized nose.

Simourv Name: Altaph
Simourv Color: Tawny (8a4d1a)
Simourv Age: Three years
Personality:
Altaph definitely lives up to her color, being notorious for her maternal urges, even more so considering her rider’s “disability.” If she’s stuck in a situation where the truth may hurt Sa’nia, she will try to lie, but fail miserably; she is an utter sweetheart, and deception never was and never will be her forte. One could easily tell when she’s lying, because she always twitches rather than swishes her long tail, and her mental voice rises to a high, almost squeaky pitch. Her ears also pin back a bit, and she sometimes snaps her beak together (much like a person grinds their teeth together). This normally gets her into a bit of trouble with Sa’nia, especially if her “lies” get her rider’s secret plans foiled.
The Tawny believes that there is a fine line between good and bad, and that she is the wall that blocks Hers (and friends) from crossing that line from good to bad. If Altaph feels that her rider is about to commit something unruly or unjust, a claw or beak will drag the girl back from her destination. However, she does have a slight sense of humor and enjoys the harmless pranks as much as Sa’nia.
When it comes to relationships/being flirted with, Altaph is absolutely TERRIBLE at it, with terrible being a severe understatement. When/if she is flirted with, she will be dumbfounded, floundering for words. Considering her devotion towards her rider, it’s no surprise; she spends more time keeping the girl’s balance in check than talking with others.
Appearance:
Altaph is the perfect size for a Tawny Simourv, standing at twenty six feet at the shoulder and fifty eight feet from nose to rump. Her build is slender and slight, allowing for easy maneuvering through dense woods hunting for koxi. However, because of her light frame, she doesn’t have the best stamina in the world, opting to take double shifts if need be. Her shoulders are at a happy medium.
Holding true to her coloration namesake, Altaph ranges from deep to dusty brown, the darker being on her head, tail, underside, and wings, and the lighter on her middle section. Her beak is a dark, almost black gray as well as her horns and talons. She has black markings running from between her eyes down her neck, with a creamy yellowish white filling in the interior of the black markings. Streaks of cream-filled-black cover her torso and legs. The streaks fade out as they travel across her body, and fully disappear on the tail. Spots of orange border the streaks as well. On the tips of her wings and tail, rings of lighter orange and cream circle the feathers. Her eyes are a ruddy black, and can look the color of dirtied jade when light strikes them the right way. They glitter with constant vitality.

History:
Kaleb and Cailyn were first-generation Pohonians, much like half of the current population (the other half, of course, being the latest generation of Emily passengers). Cailyn grew up around pottery, and held a natural talent for the art. When she was seven, her family traveled with another family that they were close friends with to the woodland town of Chydyn.
The only son of the other family (Kaleb) was quite the warrior, lashing out at bushes and pretending that they were fearsome enemies. Cailyn found him utterly ridiculous and over-rambunctious, and threatened to bash his head in with a pot if he broke her craftsmanship. Naturally, Kaleb being a boy, he continued his frenzied attacks around the camping site one night, and accidentally smacked Cailyn upside the head with his “war stick.” Enraged, the girl did exactly what she had threatened; taking a small clay pot in her hands, she threw it at his head. Thankfully, the clay hadn’t been baked, and only managed to cover the boy’s face and make them burst into a laughing fit. That had sealed the friendship between them.
Feelings began to grow as the two families finally reached Chydyn. They quickly settled and lived there happily for many years. Kaleb happily accepted being a guard when he was twenty-one so that he could fend off the fearsome enemies in his childhood fantasies. Cailyn stayed with her pottery, and made Kaleb small gifts for him from time to time. The two eventually got married at the age of twenty-five.
One year later, the koxi paid the humble town a visit. Many lives were claimed that day, but because Satonia was so young, she doesn’t remember anything. She relied on her mother, who described it all in detail: giant rust-colored lizards shot out from all directions it seemed, and crushed many people beneath their terrible clawed feet. The sounds of screams being cut short were frequent and terrifying. The entire time, Cailyn was afraid that her Kaleb would never return to her side.
Thankfully, he did return without many serious injuries. He claims that right as a koxi was about to lunge at him, a large, griffon-like creature grabbed the monster by the neck in its talons and soared high in the air and let go of its burden, letting it fall to the ground with a sickening thud. It happened so quickly, that he had no time to react.
Twelve years later saw the birth of a healthy little girl. The couple named their first daughter Satonia, after Cailyn’s mother who had died shortly before their daughter’s birth. She was quite rambunctious and involved with her mother once she was able to walk and talk. However, she wasn’t allowed near the clay sculptures and utensils while they were up for sale; she was notorious for being terribly clumsy from her first few steps to today. Her brother, Radcliff, was born six years after her.
At the age of fifteen, the adolescent heard from many that there would be a hunting expedition traveling through the area, recruiting members. She rushed back to her house to spread the news, and was one of the first to sign up. With one final wave to her parents, Satonia began her journey through the mountains, eager to find new discoveries.
What the expedition had expected to find was many cave, but what they found was a complete shock: a withering gray Simourv with a large clutch of twenty-four eggs. At first, all were wary to enter, but after some time it became apparent that the Gray did not seem to mind the humans and allowed them to enter the cave. With fiery hair bouncing behind her, Satonia quickly set up her own camping area near the clutch, turning a bright navy blue egg when needed, as did the rest of the people in their group. They endured with the clutchmother through the winter.
Then, the day came where the clutch of twenty-four eggs hatched. The girl didn't remember much of it because it had happened so fast, but there was a fiery crimson blur as a Red Canph exploded from his egg and attack a boy Satonia didn’t quite recognize. As many of the eggs hatched, it didn’t seem like her charge would hatch; it rarely wiggled at all, and when it did, it was not very noticeable. However, the girl kept her hopes high. Finally, nearing the end of the Hatching, with only a couple of eggs remaining, it didn't seem to want to wait much longer. With a sudden and violent thrash, a cream-colored foot smashed through the shell of the egg. Another talon-adorned foot wasn’t far behind, scratching at the edges of the hole to widen it. Eventually, a small brownish Simourv was sitting in the center of the remains.
A Rainbow hatched shortly after the Tawny, and began investigating each and every one of the expedition members. He didn't spare a glance at her, but she didn't really mind. What she did mind was the fact that the brown chick was not moving from her spot, almost unsure if there was somebody that she really wanted at all. Unsure on whether or not to advanco towards the creature, Satonia took a small, staggering step backwards to give some more space. Coincidentally, there was a small rock behind her heel, and her foot caught the rock, causing her to teeter wildly (which would just be her luck, of course) and nearly trip backwards. However, instead of feeling cold wind rush past her face, a feathery body was propped behind her knees.Sa’nia! Are you all right? Your Altaph doesn’t want you to trip and hurt yourself! Would you like me to get some assistance from one of the others? the voice echoed in her mind, and Sa’nia quickly turned and collapsed to hug her bonded.
The three years of grueling training were a particular challenge for the new Tawny Rider, but she took each new tactic in stride and maneuvered it to best fit her needs. That short time had seemed to fly by before the new Riders of Pohono were winging into the Eyrie and making return appearances at their hometowns. Flying gracefully over Chydyn, Sa’nia almost felt a small pang of guilt for leaving her family behind. Don’t, Sa’nia. If you had left, what would have happened to me? her Altaph reminded her, and that brought a smile back to her face.
Today, Sa’nia and Altaph can be found either standing watch at the Eyrie or shooting through the skies of Pohono, bringing more future Riders to the land.
