TIMELINE

Year Zero:
The colonial ship Emily landed on PHN15 in the early spring, bringing humans desperate to escape the wars and crowded worlds to the untouched paradise. The landing site on the northern continent, called Spiderland, was turned into the first major settlement. The planet was named Pohono. The town was named Sayaie.

Year One:
The turn of winter to spring the year after the landing marked the beginning of the first real year. Babies conceived at the space voyage were already born and the first children conceived on Pohonian soil followed them. A second major settlement was begun in woodlands north of Sayaie. It was named Chydyn.

Year Twenty-Six:
A third major settlement was made on the peninsula to the west of Sayaie when the first generational mark was passed. It was named Itnala. That was when the first xymokoxi attack occurred on Chydyn. The event was a bloodbath until two giant griffin-like creatures appeared. The black and blue simourvs slaughtered the koxi, saving the people who remained.

Year Thirty-One:
Koxi attacks continued. Human settlements prepared for them, but small groups of simourvs continued to be their saviors. One black, one red, two blue, three greens, and one rainbow are identified. Scientists provide limited information on both koxi and simourvs.

Year Fifty-Three:
Simourvs are slowly disappearing and human populations have been suffering under the threat of koxi. Only one black, one blue, and one green were seen over the last year. A group of teens and young adults ventures out into the mountains on a hunting expedition. They find a nest of simourv eggs, the first ever seen, under the guard of a sickly gray.

Year Fifty-Four:
The expedition stays with the eggs as the year turns. The eggs hatch, and the twenty-four members of their party bond to the twenty-four hatchlings, gaining honorifics in the process. Roaza becomes Ro'za, bonding to the gray that hatched from the clutch's singular metallic egg. The clutch's mother passes away. The new riders struggle to train their simourvs.

Year Fifty-Five:
The hatchlings fledge and began to fly. The few older members of the original hunting party work to teach the younger members combat skills. A canyon with appropriate caves is found. The riders move into their new eyrie. A group of koxi attack in the fall. They are defeated with no casualties. No wild simourvs have been seen in over a year.

Year Fifty-Six:
The riders return to human settlements when their simourvs turn two. They defeat a koxi attack on Sayaie. The greens of the clutch begin to fly to mate. Inbreeding is determined to be a nonissue. Greens turn out to be infertile. Personnel move into the eyrie. Leadership and guard squads start to be organized. Ro'za's gray, Eceph, asserts her dominance, making Ro'za the first Sr. Phoenix. Candidates for future simourv clutches are searched.

Year Fifty-Seven:
A large koxi attack occurs on the eyrie. Gray Eceph has her maiden flight and is caught by black Alianph. His rider, G'len, becomes the first Sr. Commander. Eceph lays a clutch of twenty-five eggs which soon hatch. The first class of winglets, the Alphas, bonds and begins lessons. Tawny Altaph soon flies as well and is caught by blue Wegmeph. A wild blue attends her flight. She lays a clutch of three eggs that hatch and bond near the end of the year.
