GRAY Grays are the rarest class of simourv, making up only two percent of the population. They are always female, which can be seen in their design. Few are bulky. Most have rolling features and slender limbs. Despite their delicate builds, they are massive creatures, ranging from sixty-two to seventy feet in length from nose to rump. They sexually mature slowly, but that is likely due to their high fertility. They rise once every few years once they turn three and produce clutches of ten to twenty-eight eggs. As their name suggests, grays are gray across most of their body, usually fairly dark in color. Some have markings of brown and orange. Utterly the leaders and queens of their eyries, they are sensible, focused creatures. They are protective of what they rule. Some are ambitious and driven. Others are more caring and dedicated. All show intelligence and demand respect. They only bond to women who are heterosexual or bisexual and are extremely careful about their choice, selecting individuals capable of handling responsibility.
HATCHLING - birth around 5 ft. tall at shoulder, 10 ft. long from nose to rump 2 ft. long head, tail 160% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped POST-HATCHLING - five months around 10 ft. tall at shoulder, 21 ft. long from nose to rump 4 ft. long head, tail 150% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped PRE-FLEDGLING - nine months around 17 ft. tall at shoulder, 35 ft. long from nose to rump 7 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped FLEDGLING - thirteen months around 26 ft. tall at shoulder, 52 ft. long from nose to rump 9 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings fledged and underdeveloped POST-FLEDGLING - seventeen months around 30 ft. tall at shoulder, 61 ft. long from nose to rump 10 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed ADULT - eighteen months around 33 ft. tall at shoulder, 66 ft. long from nose to rump 11 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed
BLACK The rarest purely male simourvs, blacks make up only six percent of the population. They're huge creatures, coming in between fifty-eight and sixty-two feet, rivaling some grays in size. They are the kings of the eyrie, the lords and masters, and they tend to act as such. They're serious, focused creatures with a tendency of giving out orders without even thinking. Some are rather quiet despite that. Others are typical gentleman with every interest in the ladies. Blacks are fully capable of chasing any female once they reach two years, but they don't tend to be that overly interested in pursuing most. They're often horrible flirts on the grounds, but most reserve themselves for grays, which they have the best luck of catching. Smaller females often elude them. All of them are solid black across most of their body, but most also have at least some markings in gray and white. They always select either heterosexual or bisexual men to be their riders, liking males capable of handling responsibility and leadership.
HATCHLING - birth around 4 ft. tall at shoulder, 8 ft. long from nose to rump 2 ft. long head, tail 160% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped POST-HATCHLING - five months around 8 ft. tall at shoulder, 16 ft. long from nose to rump 3 ft. long head, tail 150% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped PRE-FLEDGLING - nine months around 15 ft. tall at shoulder, 30 ft. long from nose to rump 6 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped FLEDGLING - thirteen months around 23 ft. tall at shoulder, 46 ft. long from nose to rump 8 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings fledged and underdeveloped POST-FLEDGLING - seventeen months around 28 ft. tall at shoulder, 57 ft. long from nose to rump 9 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed ADULT - eighteen months around 30 ft. tall at shoulder, 60 ft. long from nose to rump 10 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed
RED Reds are only a bit smaller and a little less rare than blacks. They make up around eight percent of the population and range from fifty-six to sixty feet in length when fully grown male. Generally, in build, they're actually bulkier than blacks, designed tall and burly. They're usually one solid color of red across their body, but many have black markings. However, a few have markings in distinct shades of pink. Of course, one shouldn't think to call reds girly in any way, shape, or form. Spitfire and prone to raging, they're volatile creatures. They are warriors, ready to fight at a moment's notice. Most are arrogant and they prefer to think of themselves as masculine as possible. They'll chase anything once they hit two years, from grays to greens. They most often catch tawnies, but they can actually catch anything. When they bond, reds usually select heterosexual or bisexual men, though they aren't known to be overly particular. They demand riders with the emotional strength and confidence to deal with their vicious tendencies.
HATCHLING - birth around 4 ft. tall at shoulder, 7 ft. long from nose to rump 2 ft. long head, tail 160% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped POST-HATCHLING - five months around 7 ft. tall at shoulder, 14 ft. long from nose to rump 3 ft. long head, tail 150% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped PRE-FLEDGLING - nine months around 13 ft. tall at shoulder, 27 ft. long from nose to rump 5 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped FLEDGLING - thirteen months around 20 ft. tall at shoulder, 40 ft. long from nose to rump 7 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings fledged and underdeveloped POST-FLEDGLING - seventeen months around 25 ft. tall at shoulder, 50 ft. long from nose to rump 8 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed ADULT - eighteen months around 29 ft. tall at shoulder, 58 ft. long from nose to rump 9 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed
TAWNY Tawnies are always female. They are the third rarest of all types of simourv and make up five percent of the population. While still quite large for a simourv, coming in between fifty-five and fifty-nine feet, tawnies don't often try to play with the big boys. They're sweethearts, soft and mild as could be. While more than happy to defend someone from koxi, they're horrible at arguing. They also aren't known for being the brightest of simourvs, though not exactly actually stupid. In basically all ways, they're simply kindly, caring creatures, prone to mothering and perhaps a tinge meddlesome. Most are a dull brown across much of their body, but they are, in truth, any mix of brown with red, orange, and yellow. Tawnies reach sexual maturity at three years and fly irregularly every couple of turns after that. They are the only fertile females besides grays, producing small clutches of one to three eggs. When bonding, they typically pick heterosexual or bisexual females in need of some sort of help. They aren't overly selective in their choice.
HATCHLING - birth around 4 ft. tall at shoulder, 7 ft. long from nose to rump 2 ft. long head, tail 160% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped POST-HATCHLING - five months around 7 ft. tall at shoulder, 14 ft. long from nose to rump 3 ft. long head, tail 150% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped PRE-FLEDGLING - nine months around 12 ft. tall at shoulder, 24 ft. long from nose to rump 5 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped FLEDGLING - thirteen months around 19 ft. tall at shoulder, 36 ft. long from nose to rump 7 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings fledged and underdeveloped POST-FLEDGLING - seventeen months around 24 ft. tall at shoulder, 49 ft. long from nose to rump 8 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed ADULT - eighteen months around 27 ft. tall at shoulder, 57 ft. long from nose to rump 9 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed
BLUE The most common purely male type of simourv, blues make up around thirty-five percent of the population. They're on the smaller side, ranging from forty-six to fifty-four feet from nose to rump, but they aren't minuscule. They demonstrate a wide range of builds. Some are skinny. Some are burly. In personality, though, most are rather similar in at least one respect. Blues are calm. They're good at dealing with others and make natural followers. Each has their quirks, but they are, by definition, not flashy creatures. Once they reach two years of age, they will chase anything but grays that rise. They usually catch greens, but it certainly isn't out of the question for them to snag a rainbow or tawny. Much as their name would suggest, blues are a solid blue across much of their body. They often have markings in either black or white. When selecting a rider, they show some preference towards males, but they won't turn down an acceptable female. They generally prefer riders who are willing and able to do work and understand orders.
HATCHLING - birth around 3 ft. tall at shoulder, 6 ft. long from nose to rump 1 ft. long head, tail 160% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped POST-HATCHLING - five months around 6 ft. tall at shoulder, 12 ft. long from nose to rump 2 ft. long head, tail 150% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped PRE-FLEDGLING - nine months around 11 ft. tall at shoulder, 23 ft. long from nose to rump 4 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped FLEDGLING - thirteen months around 17 ft. tall at shoulder, 34 ft. long from nose to rump 6 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings fledged underdeveloped POST-FLEDGLING - seventeen months around 23 ft. tall at shoulder, 46 ft. long from nose to rump 7 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed ADULT - eighteen months around 25 ft. tall at shoulder, 50 ft. long from nose to rump 8 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed
GREEN The most common of all simourvs, greens make up roughly forty percent of the population. They are always female. Flirty, feisty, and flighty, greens can be quite a lot of things all at once. They don't like to stay on one emotion for long and tend to broadcast their feelings in an obvious manner. One moment they'll be lovingly talking to the rider and the next they'll be avidly ripping apart the nearest threat. Maturing sexually at two years, greens are infertile. They rise to mate about once a year after maturity. Most are solid green across their body with some yellow markings. A few of them can have orange markings as well. Smaller than almost all other types of simourvs, they come in between thirty-six and forty-eight feet from nose to rump. They are generally skinny and slender, possessing better agility than strength. Though they do show a slight preference towards females when bonding, greens will select any human that is available to them with the right mind. They choose a wide range of personality types.
HATCHLING - birth around 3 ft. tall at shoulder, 6 ft. long from nose to rump 1 ft. long head, tail 160% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped POST-HATCHLING - five months around 5 ft. tall at shoulder, 10 ft. long from nose to rump 2 ft. long head, tail 150% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped PRE-FLEDGLING - nine months around 9 ft. tall at shoulder, 20 ft. long from nose to rump 4 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings unfledged and undeveloped FLEDGLING - thirteen months around 13 ft. tall at shoulder, 26 ft. long from nose to rump 5 ft. long head, tail 140% of body length, wings fledged and underdeveloped POST-FLEDGLING - seventeen months around 18 ft. tall at shoulder, 36 ft. long from nose to rump 6 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed ADULT - eighteen months around 21 ft. tall at shoulder, 42 ft. long from nose to rump 7 ft. long head, tail 130% of body length, wings fledged and fully developed
RAINBOW Rainbows are the only color class of simourvs that can be both male and female. Aside from grays, they are the rarest type, making up only four percent of the population. They are also the smallest and often brightest colored of their species. Coming in at only thirty-five to thirty-seven feet in length when fully grown, they are typically slight of build. Their feathering is always at least three distinct colors and at least four shades of those colors besides. Most directly resemble a living rainbow. They develop sexually very slowly. Female rainbows don't rise until they're five and males don't chase until they're four. Females are known to be infertile. Males will chase greens and other rainbows, and that's all they catch, though the occasional one might try for a tawny. They are intelligent, sensitive, sweet creatures who are prone to extreme cheerfulness and optimism. They are energetic. Rainbows are not particular in their selection of riders. They will choose people of any gender and sexuality, regardless of their own gender.
