Name: T'gan (Teagan)
Age: 20 (as of Spring, Year 59), Fall
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual
Rank: Winglet, Alpha class
Hometown: Itnala
Personality:
Teagan is generally fairly practical-minded and serious. She believes strongly in her duty to her family, and works hard helping on her father's fishing boat. While when she was younger she looked up to her big brother as a role-model, she has since taken up a sort of rivalry with him when they work together - who can bring in the larger or more valuable catch, who can cast the nets quicker. Raised to be a tomboy, much to the dismay of her mother, Teagan often associates with the local boys and is perfectly adept at holding her own in a fist-fight. Further to her mother's dismay, Teagan has shown no desire in the slightest at choosing a suitable husband - already older than her mother when *she* was married, Teagan is often pressured to hurry along her choice. Teagan herself is made to feel incredibly uncomfortable and guilty over this, having no romantic interest whatsoever in the boys with whom she associates - going so far as to knock flat the few who have broached such affections to her. She feels further guilt and embarassment over the preferences she *does* feel toward some of the other girls. She keeps this to herself as best she can, and can be overly stand-offish toward other females - enforcing an often falsified stoicness upon herself in dealing with them.
Of course, this stoicness does not carry over toward her family, save occasionally toward her mother. Teagan is much more open toward her sister and brother in particular, and is more inclined to smile and joke with them. She sees it as part of her duty to teach her sister the art of diving and mending nets, which her mother taught her when she was younger. She has also broached the subject of her preferences to her brother, who while not entirely understanding of it has thus far endeavored to keep her secret. Teagan is very close to her siblings in a way that she does not feel she can be with her other peers. She has a tendency to distance her self, if only to a slight degree, from all others.
When slighted, Teagan has a tendency to hold grudges - occasionally holding to them for quite a long while. She is not quick to forgive without some sort of formal apology, and can often be hard-pressed to offer apology herself. She disdains speaking to those who have displeased her, and tends to hold overly aloof in such instances until she feels the slight has been suitably addressed.
Appearance:
Teagan stands at a none-too-impressive height of 5'5", possessing a swimmers build - lithe and streamlined. Her skin is coppery, suntanned, and her hair similarly sunbleached to a pale blonde. Teagan's hands are heavily calloused, and an old, ugly scar can be glimpsed on her right forearm - the marring mark travels near the length of her arm along one side and has a texture not unlike that of a burn, serving a stark reminder to her to avoid the native stinging corals in the reefs off the coast of Itnala.
While not a raving beauty, Teagan is pretty enough if one happens to fancy the athletic type. Her face is slightly heart-shaped, nose a bit too long, but her eyes are wide and clear, a handsome hazel-green color. Teagan's hair is currently worn at just above shoulder-length - a touch too short to tie back just yet - and is more often than not tousled and mussed. She does not seem to care much for keeping her hair in any semblance of order, and often views it as more of a nuisance than anything else - getting in her eyes and tickling the back of her neck.
Teagan favors plain, common clothing on land - if only for the fact that she does not own much particularly fancy. She often wears plain breaches and a tunic, belted at the waist. On her father's fishing boat, or in the water, Teagan prefers lighter clothing, and often strips down to near nothing when she dives to search out shellfish or fix her father's traps along the sea floor.

History:
Hailing from a family of fisher-folk, Teagan and her family live in a small and somewhat cramped abode near to the coast within the territory of Itnala. Her parents, Amelia and Connor, married young and had their first child - a boy, Aedan - shortly afterward. Teagan herself was born some 6 years after her brother, and their youngest, Keira, was born roughly 3 years after that. Teagan's family tries to live as comfortably as they are able under the circumstances, which such a large family living in a home barely large enough to hold them all. Thus far they have managed well enough, bringing in enough fish in times of bounty to hold over in seasons where there is a lack.
The family has been lucky enough, in that they have had no direct encounters with the koxi. They have, of course, heard of the attacks occurring farther afield, but there have been none near enough to threaten them. While her parents are very greatful for this providence, Teagan herself thinks little enough of the koxi to realize how good a thing it is. She is often more concerned with the changing moods of the sea than with creatures which she has never herself seen.
Teagan and her sister Keira have both been taught to dive deep under water - either from small rock 'islands' just off the coast, or from their father's boat - to bring back up clams and shellfish, and to check the traps set for crustaceans. They do this both to collect the meat of these creatures, as well as for the often beautiful shells themselves, which can occasionally fetch more than a small sum for rarer specimens. Teagan is happy enough with the work, however her sister shows a flagging interest of late, wanting for a more extravagant life. Despite this, of late Teagan has felt more and more unhappy with her home, under her mother's continued insistance that she find a suitor and bear them grandchildren.
