Name: R'ths (Reiths)
Age: twenty, born in autumn
Gender: female
Sexuality: heterosexual
Rank: winglet, self-proclaimed researcher.
Location: the Eyrie, originally from Sayaie
Personality:
At first glance, one would normally consider Reiths to be a calm and collected person if not downright distant with her constant acts of staring out into space. Always studying, always keeping to herself (if not interacting with family members), visitors and outsiders would start to wonder if the girl had any friends to speak of. When in reality, Reiths got along well with most of the people in town. Many of the townspeople would agree that after spending a long period of time with her, that is after getting to know her better, one will realise that she isn’t as stoic (help me think of a better word here) as she seems.
Born as the fourth child of an ecologist and a guardsman, the girl had always been raised as a studious and obedient child. As such, she grew up to be a person who values knowledge above almost all else. In her view, one can never have too much information on a certain subject and this type of thinking had naturally caused her to develop an inquisitive personality. Reiths has always been curious as to the why’s and how’s of the world and her thirst for knowledge is unquenchable; once you explain one thing to her, she’ll want to know the explanation to your explanation next, or if she doesn’t agree with you, a short debate is very likely to take place. Her curiousity however, tends to center around the darker and more dangerous aspects of Pohono. She realises that the objects of her curiousity aren’t exactly the safest out there, but Reiths is generally like a cat who has been killed (many many times) due to her inquisitive nature, and has been brought back by satisfaction each time without fail.
Naturally prone to sticking her nose where it isn’t wanted, Reiths is also the type of person who simply cannot stay still for too long. Ever since she was young, she loved exploring the surroundings of her town away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and dreams of venturing into the less explored regions of Pohono. When free of her normal obligations such as studying and combat practice (her parents insisted on that due to the constant threat the xymokoxi), the girl could normally be found wandering around the borders of town and occasionally in the less dense areas of the forests (she still does it even after the countless scoldings she received from her parents). This trait of hers carried on even into her late teens. Even now it isn’t uncommon for you to cross paths with her somewhere within the forest or by the ocean with a sketchpad and a pencil in hand.
Her tendency to question everything around her isn’t only limited to the environment either, she’s been known to be pesky at times too. Reiths, however hard it may be to believe, loves to interact with others; she enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as making new acquaintances. In a new place with a completely new environment however, she has this little habit of latching onto the first person she meets and pestering them with questions to get to know them better. Some find this quirk of hers to be amusing at first, but most find it annoying, especially when it is already the fifth day and she starts to ask about more personal matters; at this point she’d normally be yelled at to go away or to mind her own business. Of course when this happens, Reiths would try her best to fix the situation and somehow or another she will find a way to succeed, the only thing she hates more than not being able to understand something is failing at a task given to her.
When with her friends or those she considers to be close to her, Reiths reveals the more happy-go-lucky side of her personality. At times like this, she enjoys teasing and poking fun at her friends. As caring and supporting as she may seem, Reiths actually harbours a slightly dark, sadistic personality (one she’s developed in her childhood thanks to her brothers). She relishes in seeing the wide variety of expressions on her friends faces when she messes with them, be it physically or mentally. If she dislikes you however, chances are she’ll interact with you at the most professional level that she can muster, no worries about her bothering you or anything, you’re not even worth her time.
In her work ethics, Reiths can be considered as efficient. She always completes all of her tasks, is always punctual and hardly ever leaves any margins for errors. That is, if she doesn’t dislike that certain obligation that is. While she may seem like a perfectionist in the things that she enjoys doing, she will not partake in any activities that she is not fond of. When placed in these kinds of situations, Reiths is more easily angered than usual and will be in a constant state of irritation. If she is still forced to complete that particular task, it is more likely than not that the outcome will only be half-assed, which will indefinitely result in some kind of argument.
Appearance:
Standing at an average height of 5’6”, Reiths has a lean and lithe build that is more accustomed to agility than strength. Being born to a family where she is always compared to her four brothers in every way possible, the girl is very self conscious of her appearance, especially when taking her height into consideration. When living with brothers whose average height are at a whopping 6’2” (yes, even her younger brother is taller than her) she can’t help but feel a little put off by it. Because of that, she has developed this strange habit of wearing elevated shoes (of which she made by herself) which effectively increase her height to around 5’10”.
Her short, strawberry blonde hair, that only just barely reaches down to her shoulders, is now more blonde than strawberry thanks to the amount of time she spends outdoors under the watchful eye of Mr Sun. When she was younger, Reiths had preferred to keep her hair length at about past her shoulder blades, but when she realised that the length of her hair kept getting in the way of her exploring, she promptly picked up a pair of scissors and cut off a substantial amount of hair (much to her mother’s dismay). It had also been said that whenever she would cut her hair again after that, for the first few days after the trimming she’d look more like a boy than a girl (a fact that her older brothers would poke fun of).
Her fairly tanned skin is also the result of her constant exposure to the outdoor. While admittedly, her skin tone isn’t as dark as her father’s or brothers’ but there it has turned a considerable shade darker than it was originally. She doesn’t particularly care about the tan that she has developed, but somewhere, far back in her mind, she doesn’t want her skin to darken as much as the guys’ did. She is after all still a girl, and some girls are just ‘iffy’ about these things.
Reiths takes after both of her parents equally. From her mother, she inherited the high cheekbones, full lips and stubborn chin, but with the case of her hair colour and eyes, she takes after her father. It has been said that her most prominent physical feature would have to be her pale, stormy bluish-green eyes, especially her left eye due to the thin scar below it (a memento from one of her skirmishes with a xymokoxi). Framed by thick lashes, her deep set, almond shaped eyes have a decidedly cat-like feel to them. When she’s feeling particularly witty or playful, one can clearly see the mischievous glint in her eyes accompanied by her infamous Cheshire smile, the small cut beneath her left eye only serves to make her look slightly intimidating.
When given a casual passing glance, Reiths hardly looks like the type of person who can hold her own in a fight. But upon a closer inspection, one would clearly be able to see the light, faded scars that are scattered across her arms and upper torso (the results of her training and frequent spars with her brothers). In fact, Reiths bears a rather large scar across her back; it cuts diagonally from her right shoulder down towards her hips and then curves upwards on her left side. How and where she received the mark from is a touchy subject for her and is rarely brought up in conversation even with those near and dear to her.

History:
Calleb and Raeley had known each other since they were young and the two were practically raised together. As such, it wasn’t such a big surprise when the two of them got married (the both of them aged 20), although Raeley’s brothers were all pretty much against the union. To say that they were livid would be an understatement, the three of them had never been fond of Calleb, and when it came to their youngest sister, the guys were generally an overprotective bunch. To put it simply, poor Calleb had to literally fight to gain their acceptance. After that, it was pretty much smooth sailing the rest of the way.
Only a year into their marriage, the young couple were blessed with their first born. Rayan, as a child would usually keep to himself when not tailing his mother. He was also a very territorial child; even at the tender age of two years, Rayan hated having people approaching him and his family. Of course he meant no harm (as yet), but having a baby glare at you when they shouldn’t even know how to yet is a very unsettling experience.
Three years after Rayan’s birth, the family were then graced with the birth of twin boys. Jaden and Kaile were exactly the same, and yet at the same time they were complete opposites. Jaden, the older twin by about a minute and a half, had a very friendly and welcoming personality. He got along well with others and is considered to be very popular among his peers. As one would associate Jaden with the calm ocean, Kaile, the younger twin, would be associated with the stormy sea. Irritable and easily angered, people tend to avoid the younger brother with preference for the elder; not that Kaile minds in the least, he likes it better that way. Be that as it may, the twins are actually very close and it is rare for them to ever be seen apart.
At first the three boys weren’t exactly the closest of siblings; they got along well enough, but because their personalities were so different, they never exactly found gound common enough to bond over. All that changed when Rayan and the twins turned six and three respectively. Born as the fourth child and as the only girl, Reiths was considered the baby of the family. As expected she became the favourite and was the most spoiled of the group. However, instead of being closer to her parents, Rayan, Jaden and Kaile were the ones to find themselves with a new shadow.
As a child, Reiths was a bundle of boundless energy and had a strange knack of getting herself into the strangest situations, and somehow or another, the responsibility of looking after the rambunctious little tyke fell into the hands of her (only slightly older) brothers. In the beginning, the boys had no idea what to do with her; they had no clue about how to deal with their hyperactive baby sister who had somehow mastered the art of successfully climbing up a tree and not being able to get back down. Somewhere along the way, they came to an agreement, that there was no way that she was ‘normal’, and on that day the three of them took an oath to keep a very close eye on their sister for fear that she would only bring harm to herself (and others) if left to her own devices. From there, a strange yet solid bond formed between the siblings and for a long while, Reiths had yet to find herself stuck in a tree.
When the fifth and last child, Seiryn, was born Reiths was simply ecstatic to have a baby brother, her older brothers could only groan in despair and Kaile irritatedly exclaimed “Great, another weird one!” He was thoroughly scolded by his father for making that comment, though secretly, even Calleb hoped that the new born wouldn’t be as much of a handful as his only daughter was. Thankfully, that specific prayer had been answered. Seiryn grew up to be a well mannered little boy, whose only fault was that as a child he looked too feminine for his own good. He often got into little arguments with his older brothers about that, but that aside, the four got along swimmingly and Reiths simply adored her baby brother.
In Reiths’ family, it is a tradition that upon reaching the age of ten, a child will have to start learning the art of fighting. Her father, being the strict guardsman that he was, fully enforced that tradition. And since her mother was for the idea as well, the day of her tenth birthday was the very day that Reiths began her combat training, as did her older brothers before and Seiryn after her. The siblings, though completely new to the rules of combat turned out to be naturals, Reiths less so than her brothers. Being boys and bigger than her, they always had the upper hand and could easily overpower her in a fight without even trying to. In the earlier stages, this fact vexed her to no end. She hated being bested, especially if it happened to be something that she liked to do, and as it was in her blood, she enjoys sparring. After getting thrown to grounda lot several times, she decided to ease up on building up her strength and focus more on speed. It turned out that she was a lot faster than her brothers, and she played that to her advantage. The odds were evened out after that, and Reiths found herself flat on the ground less often during the training sessions.
With her mother and two uncles were people of science, it wasn’t a wonder that Reiths had taken a shine to the subject as well. While she was homeschooled by her mother, Reiths drank in the knowledge taught to her like a man dying of thirst would lap up water; quickly and efficiently. At the age of fifteen, when she was deemed old enough to travel on her own (though her mother still insisted that she brought one of her brothers along) the girl would often go to visit her uncles, Rheon and Keefer, who live near the outskirts of town near the forest and ocean respectively, in order to learn more from them. From Rheon, she learned about the types and uses of plants that can be found in Pohono, and from Keefer, she gained more knowledge about the animals living in their homeland and the ecology of Pohono in general. Listening and understanding the information given to her was one thing, but whether or not she was able to retain all that information was a completely different issue. Learning about her homeland, and listening to the stories of the regions of Pohono that have yet to be discovered had led Reiths to develop a deep yearning to travel to and explore such places. From that day, she started carrying out her own research about the land in hopes of broadening her knowledge of the world.
Her brothers, unlike her, never really had a particular interest in the sciences of the world. So when the time came for them to pick their professions, they had decided to contribute to society in the best way they know how to. Rayan and Seiryn both became hunters, while the twins followed in their father’s footsteps and became guardsmen. Raeley, at first, had high hopes of her daughter dedicating her life to research as she and her two brothers did, her hopes however, were dampened when Reiths let it be known that she has yet to come to a decision about her future. As much as the girl enjoyed learning and experimenting with new things, it was more of a hobby (one that she was more than happy to keep) rather than something she would dedicate her whole life to.
