So what are some interesting occupations. Some jobs in the Eyrie that aren't thought of so often. Just a brainstorming for members.

From a listing of medieval occupations:
* Acrobat, Apothecarist, Architect * Armorer, Artist, Astrologer * Baker, Barrister, Bookbinder * Bowyer, Brewer, Bricklayer * Candlemaker, Carpenter, Cartographer * Clothier, Cook, Diplomat * Dyer, Engineer, Engraver * Farmer, Fisherman, Forester * Fortune-Teller, Furrier, Gardener * Glassblower, Grain Merchant, Gravedigger * Herald, Herbalist, Hunter * Innkeeper, Interpreter, Jester * Jeweler, Leatherworker, Locksmith * Messenger, Miner, Minstrel * Moneylender, Navigator, Painter * Peddler, Physician, Playwright * Politician, Potter, Rat Catcher * Sailor, Scribe, Servant * Shipwright, Shoemaker, Spy * Stonecarver, Storyteller, Weaver
Not sure how many of them would apply to the Eyrie, but since it is sort of that level of tech? We've also got soldiers, entertainers, guards - 'though those are kinda, stuff players have already used for occupations?

Seamstress or a tailor, maybe? I don't think those have been used yet.
There's also a vintner... or a nut harvester. Considering the nuts of Chydyn are one of the city's greatest exports, I'm somewhat surprised that there hasn't been a character with that background yet.

The two I have to add are a fletcher, which is someone who makes arrows, and a brewer/brewster, which is someone who makes beer. (a brewer is male and a brewster female, I believe.)
Actually, that would be a bad-ass character idea, someone whose living is making beer. I think we need that.
From the list Killy posted, a gravedigger would also totally rock.

Brewster is commonly used to refer specifically to a female brewer, but that is not exclusive. There are some areas where it was used for both males and females.

Well, if people start DYING then a gravedigger might be interesting. Otherwise they're just skulking in shadowy corners with a shovel slung over one shoulder.
...or they could be totally up-beat and happy and pouring sunshine. That would be amazing.

Well, the character would no longer be a grave digger, I suppose. Although, we are having a bunch of upcoming deaths.
I think he/she needs to be super, super blunt/ sarcastic about death. Always cracking bad morbid jokes. Kind of like the gravedigger from Hamlet--but like--different.
It'd be an awesome character.

I want a cheerful gravedigger. And people are dying. It's just because they're old and we don't care about them that they are never mentioned.

Is it because they're old that we don't care about them? D:
Poor old people.
...we need a grandmotherly figure. Like, one that smacks you with her cane if you don't move fast enough and sasses everyone. Once people start having bebbies it may be even more relevant if she cares for some of 'em. >> We just need older people, methinks.

Hmm, maybe I'll make my old shepherd character idea yet. We need someone to shovel all that simourv dung.

Coming from a purely horsey perspective, we seem to be missing the following considering how important horses are in this culture:
a. Saddler (makes saddles/bridles and maybe harnesses) b. Tanner (might be comparable with Leatherworker, but adding anyway) c. Stablehands d. Stable managers / Horsemasters e. Carriage makers f. Horse merchants / breeders (with the exception of R'iner's family) g. Horse trainer / tamer h. Farriers i. Veterinarians (aka animal-healers? Not sure of the medieval equivalent, if any)

Hilton is a saddler/tanner, although he is most proficient in simourv harnesses as that is what he primarily works with. His brother (not played by anyone, unfortunately) is a straight-up tanner.

Haha, my bad - I was working off what was listed in Kil's earlier post Though...come to think of it, these professions are probably in existence somewhere on Pohono. Just not played out by anyone. Well, if nothing, it's a useful list for the horse-related professions.
