Name: Serapais (S'pais)
Age: 14, winter
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Rank: Candidate
Location: Eyrie
Personality:
Serapais is not always easy to get along with. She can get under peoples skin, and the fact that she knows this makes it worse. She has a very high opinion of herself, and due to indulgent upbringing an unshakable amount of confidence. She tends to look down on other people when she first meets them, viewing them negatively until they prove themselves otherwise. Condescension and sarcasm are her games, and she loves to play. She is incredibly vocal about what pleases or displeases her, but only when she elects to volunteer her own opinion. She will jaw your ear off all day about things that don't even matter, but when you try and get an answer from her about something important, or have turned the tables on her in some way, she becomes tight lipped and vague. Especially concerning things of a personal nature.
She is stubborn. This girl refuses to be bullied, and in fact can at her worst be called a bully herself. She has a quick wit, and likes to use it. She can be disrespectful, sassy, and is sometimes quite obviously a spoiled brat. She loves a good argument, but only when she's winning. She has a foul mouth and can be cruel, often without realizing. She fancies herself very daring, and while she is brave, she is also very reckless. Serapais does not have much foresight for consequences, and while she loves to pick fights, she does not pick them wisely. She is also quite the braggart, and has a tendency to carry grudges.
On the bright side, for those who actually by some grace put up with or befriend her, she is very trustworthy. She abhors deception, and tells the truth in its brutal honesty. Well, the truth about everyone but herself. She is a bright girl, well educated, and creative, but on such a high horse that people rarely get to see this side of her. She enjoys solving problems when shes not creating them, and is fond of puzzles or games of any kind. She is also quite fond of animals, and has a fondness for horses and dogs. Thankfully for her sister, Serapais is also quite thrifty and wise with diasks.
She is rebellious, but she has a free spirit, and very strong, if sometimes incorrect, sense of self. If something is making her unhappy, she wont put up with it for long. She will find a way to make it work for her, if she can't avoid it completely. She does not want to live a life that is forced on her, but to be free to make her own decisions. She is also very protective of the people she loves, and there is no way to get on her bad side faster then to mess with her twin sister, Shaegir. Or any of her friends for that matter. She loves her sister as much as she loves herself, and most of her bad behavior seems to stem from perceived threats toward her twin. When her defenses are down, she can, remarkably, be quite tolerable, and humorous. If she has it in her head to dislike you though, she can be quite nasty.
Despite how tight lipped she can be about herself, she is a very physical person. She tends to touch people when she talks to them, and is not afraid to poke or jab someone in the chest when talking down to them. She has no problem invading the personal space of others, and doesn't mind her own invaded either. Though if one day a person were to just lose their patience with her and strike her, she would be unprepared, and probably not stand much chance of defending herself. She is all bark, and little to no bite.
Appearance:
Serapais looks strikingly similar to her sister, as the two are identical twins. However, there are still a few ways to tell them apart. Serapais, like her sister, is short for a girl her age, standing at an underwhelming 4'10". She is lean, but she has a bit more muscle definition to her than Shaegir, most likely from time spent outdoors. Her skin is a bit pale, and often slightly pinkish from too much sun. Her hair at first appears to be a light brown, but reveals itself as an ash blond color in the sun, and looks to be just a shade darker than Shaegir's upon close inspection. Her hair is fairly straight, if a bit frizzy, and reaches down several inches past her shoulders. Her eyes, like her sisters, are a dark striking blue.
She is often seen with a slightly infuriating smirk on her face, either that or a disapproving frown. She carries herself with pride, and somehow manages to look down her nose at people even though shes often a deal shorter than them. She favors comfortable form fitting clothes. Preferring slacks and trousers over dresses, and tunics and shirts with long sleeves. She is a very animated person, and can never seem to sit still for long. She has to move when she talks, and is especially lively with her hands, almost to the point of being annoying. She has a nervous sounding voice, and speaks very quickly, enunciating quite clearly.
Family:
Avery (Father, Deceased)
Naisha (Mother, Deceased)
Pets:
None.
History:
Avery and Naisha were lucky people in many ways. For one, they were a reasonably wealthy merchant family based out of the seaside city of Itnala. Secondly, in year 44 of human settlement in Spiderland, the elderly couple were blessed with two unexpected twin girls, Serapais and Shaegir. If they were unwise to shower the girls with all the love and attention they could give, it was done purely out of the best intentions. Avery was a loving father, indulgent and eager to please. Naisha was a similarly loving parent, if slightly cynical and very traditional. She raised the girls as her mother had raised her, to be proper ladies.
Serapais was a tomboyish child, and while she endured the lessons in etiquette and manners at first, she soon grew tired of them. She did not see the draw of the life her mother wanted for her. She did enjoy the comforts for parents money brought her, but as she grew older she did not see how she could bring herself to be the type of person her mother wanted just for the perks. Whether fueled by a need to disobey or a need to find herself, what was once her parent's joy became their frustration.
Things changed for the twins a year ago, when bad fortune touched their family for the first time. On what was supposed to be a tentative trade route from Itnala to a port near Sayaie, their father went missing. Either lost to the wild ocean or prey to a Koxi on land, no one was quite sure. The fact was that he was gone. Deeply grieved by the loss of her husband, and stressed near the breaking point by deteriorating relations with her two children, Naisha struggled to gain control of recent events. It became too much for her, and she grew ill. Realizing what was already a bad situation for her family might become worse, she arranged for a trusted friend of the family to care for her. If things should turn from bad to worse, Shaegir and Serapais were to be well taken care of, and prepared for the difficulties of life that faced them.
Things, as they often do, did go from bad to worse. Their mother passed, and Serapais, who had rarely known bad times, was left behind with her sister. The twins stunned, grieving, and conflicted, found comfort in each other and little else. The money that paid for their luxury didn't seem to matter anymore, and the comfortable home they knew all their lives seemed cold and foreign. As the months passed, the sisters found a way to cope. For Serapais, it was delving fully into the behavior her mother had frowned upon, but she so whole heartedly believed in. That life wasn't for her, it wasn't for them.
She conspired a plan with her sister, that the two of them would steal off in the early morning toward the docks, and either sneak or buy their way onto a ship bound for Saiyaie. They'd take only what they needed with them, and find some way to make a living. It was a reckless and foolish plan conceived by a girl who wasn't thinking clearly, but her sister as usual agreed with her. Their plan never got as far as Sayaie, as they found themselves unable to be taken seriously by the local sailors, and denied passage. Before guards could be called on them, fate intervened again in the form of a green simourv named Valenph, and her curious rider M'ari.
The life that the green-rider offered them sounded strange, but to Serapais, who demanded freedom of any kind, it sounded like an opportunity. Though her sister was wary of it, both agreed that a life at the far off Eyrie sounded more welcoming than the house they had left, empty and filled with painful memories. Perhaps that was just another bad and reckless decision on her part. They accepted, though M'ari insisted they get permission from their guardian. Said guardian was baffled and unsure at first of what to make of the rider and his offer, but quite happily changed his tune when the twins quite willingly gave the estate to him. They wouldn't need it where they were going. They were off to the eyrie, with their hopeful eyes turned toward the future.
Desired Color: Blue, Green
Undesired Color: Rainbow
Reasoning: I think a steadfast blue would appeal to Serapais sense of bravery and overall manliness. A green would be good because, man do I love greens. XD Really though, I think it would fit well with her catty attitude.
Injury/Mauling: Maul away.
