So, I was thinking of plots and nonsense, full of steroids as I am, when it came to my attention that you guys are world-building. Even if you think it's lame and not planned and small, it's happening, so I decided that we should make it bigger!
The eyrie has collected a lot of people and it has its own little habits. The wingletmasters are the reds and greens are greens and all that sort of thing. However, it specifically seems to be collecting a good set of musicians and artists as well as a lot of healers. SO LET'S DO SOMETHING WITH IT.
Let's make the eyrie healers and the eyrie harpers, as I am sure us Pern fans will doubtlessly call them, famous! It'll take some time, but does it sound a cool goal? To work on developing culture?
Also, I am going to suggest to my dear friends, the rest of the staff, to plan a fun festival for November when I won't be around much. It should be fun. That's really all I got. I am most definitely still sick and I may have broken my toe. Just to update you all on the excitement in my life.

I'm up for developing the culture more. Maybe we can work on some slang language or famous songs/stories/poems? The festival sounds like a fun idea too. Should it be a summer/fall/harvest festival do you think?

Sounds awesome! I'm all up for developing a bit of culture up in here!
I think having people discuss different songs/slang/poems they would like to have as part of Pohonian culture would be cool, as well as maybe having some people offer their characters to write stuff to be included in the Festival sounds like a lot of fun. *scrambles to staff board to start managing the event*
(also... if it's in November, that means it would be some sort of Fall/Harvest Festival, methinks... since November is Fall in Pohonian time)

One day in the Cbox, we were joking about how our generations will go down in history (I can't remember what was discussed in detail, but it involved people thinking I'dou was some sort of kindhearted goddess and Ri'ley as just the giant, and ughhhhhh, other funny things that I cannot recall.) but in reality, it's a valid thing to think about, especially since we can have characters, especially some of the older riders who are known to the communities, pick up reputations. I imagine the general populous probably thinks the riders are something short of godly.
I do think we should at least attempt to rename the harper people. I've always strongly disliked that term. Maybe the can just be 'poets?' Like in the classical sense, but that can include musicians as well.
And, I do have some thoughts about healers. I think the healers around the Eyrie are going to have to start learning to treat simourv, which will be a grand and probably stressful ordeal for all of them. I know Ri'ley's going to flip his shit as soon as he has to attempt to help a simourv in any way. So we can play around with that idea. I've always thought that should happen, and now we have enough healer characters to make it viable. Not to mention the fact that there are likely having to deal with some simourv related issues on their human patients. (Like flight injuries, etc.)
And, those of us who have healer characters, which would be me, Fox, and Stranger, as well as anyone else who wants in, should probably start making up some specific Pohono sicknesses, etc, that will have treatments/ symptoms that our characters all know which are like--common and known to them uniformly. That didn't make much sense, so what I mean is that there should be Pohono inflictions which have standard treatments which all the doctor characters know. I will start making a list, if I need to. I can be good for something.
ALSO, I think I may make a wanted ad for one of the Eyrie healers. There is one that I keep referring to in my posts, that I feel should at least have the possibility of being played, so I'll do that eventually.
And a festival sounds awesome.

Of course they don't have to be Harpers. While the term has sentiments for the world of Pern, I think here a change would be appreciated as well. Poets are fine, but there should probably be a vote or a discussion on what the musicians (that is, those people with musician characters) want to be called. Minstrels is also another term, but that's sort of Olde-School. Play around with it and find something you guys like.
And I get what you mean about common Pohonian sicknesses. You, Fox, and Stranger can get together about that and try to come up with something then run it by the staff. Also, there needs to be some sort of medical plants about Pohono... but I'm not sure what those would be.
And go ahead and make the ad for the healer! =)

How about Bards? It doesn't sound as Olde-School (Pff) as Minstrels, and generally conveys the same thing. Musician/Singer/Composer. Mmhmm.
I like the idea about the sicknesses. That would be good for referencing and such. Will think on this and discuss.

I like Bard. I am sure A're would call himself one, when he's feeling full of himself. >>
